Stappen
Ik hou niet van sport, dat moet toch inmiddels wel bekend zijn. Ondertussen loop ik me het leplazarus, omdat mijn werkgever zich in een rsi-voorkomend pand bevindt. Daar is serieus over nagedacht: hoe voorkom je rsi in een kantoorsetting. De architect van dit pand heeft bedacht dat je voor iedere kantoorhandeling moet lopen. Koffie? Sjouwen! Prints uit de printer halen? Eerst een stukje lopen. Een collega raadplegen? Helemaal niet met je kantoorstoel naar achteren rollen, maar opstaan en weer eens lopen. Het helpt. Echt. Regelmatig vloek ik me suf op andere aspecten van dit architectuurconcept, maar het moet gezegd: dit was een goed idee. Dat het werkt merk ik niet alleen aan vrolijke polsen, maar ook aan m'n voeten. Die voel ik, zeker op een hakkendag maar op gympen eigenlijk ook.
Laatst stond ik weer eens bij de apotheek voor een of ander middel tegen een of andere kwaal en op de toonbank lag de stappenteller. Ik heb hem meegenomen, ingesteld en heb hem aan mijn riem geïnstalleerd zodra ik een voet over de drempel van mijn kantoorpand zette. Zie boven het resultaat van zes uur gemiddeld kantoorgebruik, 7.666 stappen. Het klonk als best veel, maar dat ik eigenlijk verdomd goed bezig ben op zo'n dag bleek pas na het napluizen van wat websites.
"Over het algemeen geldt dat het zetten van 10.000 stappen zeer gezond is en zelfs helpt bij het afvallen. Begin met het maken van wandelingen van 2.000 of 3.000 stappen.
En vervolgens een driedubbeldwars hoezee & hoera voor deze:
"Door vervolgens meerdere en langere wandelingen per dag te maken kun je gemakkelijk aan de 10.000 per dag komen. Op die manier kun je vrij eenvoudig, zonder dure meet-instrumenten of fitness-apparaten aan je conditie werken.
Ik hoef niet op sport, ik werk al op kantoor.
