Vanille
Het is beugelaandraaidag. Dus vanillevla-dag. Twee zweethanden horen er standaard bij, de rest ging weer voorspoedig. Totdat de mevrouw die mijn mond van nieuwe elastieken en gemene ijzerdraadjes voorzag, de opmerking maakte. De opmerking waarmee je mij dus helemaal in alle staten krijgt.
Ja dat klopt, dat je tanden daar onderin los zitten. Behoorlijk los zelfs. Nee, het is niet gek dat je denkt dat ik ze er zo uit kan trekken. Ze wiebelen gewoon.
WHAAAAH! (ik) Maar dat moet hoor, als ze niet los zitten, kunnen ze ook niet draaien. Sommige dingen wil ik helemaal niet weten.
Op de gang stond een meisje te wachten op het beugelopperhoofd. Haar beugel was er net uitgehaald, en ze wilde hem haar mooie tanden laten zien. Prachtig! zei het beugelopperhoofd. Hartstikke bedankt voor alles! zei het meisje lief. Over zeventien maanden ga ik dat vast ook zeggen.

nog even volhouden en als je beugel eruit gaat krijg je een draad aan de binnenkant van je tanden, zodat het allemaal op zijn plek blijft zitten.

Nog even, euh, doorbijten. Als je na al die tijd eindelijk verlost bent van je beugel, dan is het zalig om met je tong over je tanden te gaan: zo zacht, zo vrij, zo recht, zonder metaal en blokjes en elastiekjes! Ik denk dat ik een hele dag aan mijn gebit heb lopen voelen.
